Speaking of which: WTF is going on with Google Chrome? 😡
Out of effing nowhere, Chrome’s gonna drop updates/support for Windows XP and Vista this April. O_O
I’ve been on my Vista laptop for 7 years (praise god!) and Vista is practically the same as Windows 7, with barely any differences! So WTF?
And nearly every library and school and business where I’ve used computers is STILL on frikkin XP!
So what gives, telling people to update to a newer OS, Google!? You gonna buy us all new computers? Smells like planned-obsolescence to me!
Normally I wouldn’t give a rotten fart about all this, since I only started using Chrome a few weeks ago (and I hate it; it stinks compared to Firefox, there are no good extensions, and the UI is stuck on Stupid). BUT until XKit can get support from Firefox back, as long as I want to use Tumblr without puking from the hella-lameness, I have to use Chrome. (I still do all my regular streaming and browsing on Firefox, because, hello, sweet Firefox add-ons.)
I really hope XKit hops-to in light of this ridiculousness, because come April their #1 recommendation to switch to Chrome won’t be an option for those still on what Google now considers to be useless systems. And no matter what, I’m not using an outdated version of Firefox and leaving my PC open to attack, just to get on Tumblr.
Just, really, Google? REALLY??
