Malec Chronicles – Pt9: While You Were Away

– It had been a busy day at the Lightwood-Bane residence. Magnus’ best friend Catarina Loss had even come over, to help Max learn to cast glamours to pass as a human.

– Magnus and Madzie had an easier time, with Madzie reciting nouns and verbs in the Chthonic language of Hell, while Magnus looked up safer spells she could use.

– Rafael was at the Institute with his fellow Shadowhunters, still preparing for his upcoming Rune Ceremony. Magnus had quite the party planned for his growing son.

– The roar of a Portal opening sounded outside. In came Alec, fresh from a quick visit to the Nephilim land of Idris. “Alexander! How did it go, is everything ready?”

– “The Iron Sisters are already finished forging Rafe’s stele and weapons, and one of the Silent Brothers will soon come to the Institute to apply his first Rune.” Magnus smiled. ”Splendid!“

– Alec checked in with his other children, utterly delighted that Max was getting the hang of making disguises. Soon he’d be able to go outside whenever he wanted and blend in.

– Just then, the front door opened and closed, and Alec’s parabatai Jace sauntered in, unannounced as always. But at least he had Rafe with him. “Yo!”

– “Didn’t you ever learn to knock, Herondale!?” Magnus groaned. Jace scoffed. “Ah, stop being so dramatic, Bane. Our Parabatai Rune was pulsing; I figured Alec was back home.”

– Rafe rushed up to his siblings. “Woah, Max!” The boy giggled, “Still got the horns though. Papa said if I can glamour them before your party, I can get TWO slices of cake!”

– After the laughter died down, Alec pulled Rafe aside. “Hey, son, I wanted to talk to you for a while; see how you’re doing before the Ceremony, okay?” “Alright, Daddy!”

– The effects are cuz I had to make Cat & Max werewolf-witch hybrids, in order for them to have a look with & without their warlock marks. For Cat her hidden “werewolf“ look is the blue skinned version.For Max his hidden look is the human skinned version.

MY THOUGHTS (ton of rambling about Cat & Mags)

They only brought in Magnus’ BFF Catarina Loss for mere moments near the end of S02, so we haven’t seen what she’ll look like with her warlock marks activated yet, or what her healing powers are like. I didn’t know how blue and white to make her skin and hair, so I just took my cue from her scrubs.

I didn’t want her to have the same skintone as Max, cuz yeah they’re both blue warlocks, but they’re not related at all (warlocks are sterile, btw).

On the show Cat’s the one who adopts Madzie after they rescue her from Valentine, but nah, y’all know my stubborn Malec brain already got that covered. My headcanon totally says that Auntie Cat is there for Magnus to help him wrangle in his two budding warlock kids, both to give Madzie PTSD counseling, as well as to help teach Max how to cast full-body glamours to disguise all his warlock marks when out in public.

Plus, in the books she was always there for Mags anyways, keeping him out of too much trouble. (Magnus was one messy queen in the books, especially in The Bane Chronicles! XD) Even the High Warlock of Brooklyn needs himself a squirrel-friend to come over and chat every now & then!

I really hope in S03 they give her & Magnus more scenes together, so Mags has a proper, decent, true gal-pal.

(I hate Dot; I knew that thirsty wench had a crush on Magnus, it was freaking obvious, the homewrecker. >_<)

Anyways. >_>

With Magnus’ outfit I was sorta inspired by his S01 look during the infamous scene with Camille (may she rest in pieces, too).

Also, small little detail, but I fixed sim!Magnus’ nose! ^-^ Harry’s nose has a downward hook, while my sim had an upward thing going on.

It was bothering me, okay!?
